Verbundene Augen
 Virtual Disgrace™ Premium Blindfold

Wearing & Fitting:

When you are putting your blindfold on for the first time, wait a brief moment and then touch the area around your avatar's eyes.

On the picture this area is highlighted in green. You can also right-click the blindfold in your inventory and select Touch from the context- or pie-menu or use the command: /11 <prefix> bf menu

Prefix in this case is the default OpenCollar Six prefix. That means the first two letters of your username. Wendy Starfall's prefix is we

Select BLINDFOLD in the menu to put it on, then touch the blindfold again and navigate to Options.

The width, depth and height of the blindfold can be adjusted in the Size menu. If you only want to change how broad or how long the blindfold is, simply uncheck some of the options there and click Larger or Smaller. Select one of the intensity buttons ▁ ▂ ▃ to define the strength of the effect when clicking Larger or Smaller.

If you need to position the blindfold, simply right-click your blindfold, select Edit and use the colored arrows to position it until you are satisfied. Once you are done, you can tint your blindfold in the Color menu!

General Usage:

Authorized avatars on your OpenCollar can touch your blindfold to bring up a simple menu. This requires an OpenCollar scripted collar of version 6.0 or greater, without that only you can use the blindfold.

TIP: If the blindfold is not "on" you can simply touch the area around your avatar's eyes to bring up the blindfold's menu.

To put the blindfold on, simply click BLINDFOLD, to remove it, click FREE and to alter the way it behaves when you are blindfolded, check or uncheck whatever suits your play style in Options.

To make your blindfold undetachable when shown and use all the cool features, such as darkening the screen and other visual effects and restrictions, a RLV enabled viewer is required that has "Advanced Lighting model" enabled in Preferences > Graphics.

Everyone who is listed as Owner and Trust has full access to your blindfold and its Options. Lesser authorized avatars, those accessing via public or group access, can also play with your blindfold by putting it in on you but they cannot manipulate any of its Options.

Depending on rank, higher ranked avatars can always override lower ranked avatars. An example could be that one of your trusted play partners blindfolded you. A random person accessing via public access rights cannot remove the blindfold but a full Owner or Trusted avatar on your OpenCollar could.
TIP: If something went wrong and you absolutely have to get the blindfold off, you can use your collar safeword. The default safeword on OpenCollar Six scripted collars is RED in capital letters. (You can learn more about OpenCollar basics here.)

Modes explained:

There are three visual modes that will become active as soon as the BLINDFOLD button is clicked and the cloth is shown on the avatar.

The Basic mode doesn't apply any visual effects or any RLV restrictions other than making it undetachable.

The Dramatic mode uses RLV and the "Advanced Lighting Model" (if enabled in the viewer's graphic preferences) to create a special visual effect in a small radius around the avatar. This visual effect uses the color that the blindfold currently has. The wearer of the blindfold has to get very close to other avatars in order to "feel" them. For immersive roleplay this mode might be preferable over a pitch black screen.

The Blind mode uses only RLV to create a visual effect that attempts (as good as currently possible in popular RLV enabled viewers) to simulate complete blindness. If there are so-called 'full bright' surfaces nearby, the wearer might still see some blurry spots on the screen.
A few words on restrictive options:

During Dramatic and Blind modes restrictive 'extra options' will also be applied. Location hides the map, mini map, name of location etc. Camming refers to the ability to move the camera around freely, with this disabled the camera is locked in place. Nametags and hovertext seem to be self-explanatory. The wearer's own name always stays visible to the wearer herself in some popular RLV enabled viewers.

Chat Commands:

The default channel of the blindfold is channel 11 and the default prefix is just like on the OpenCollar Six itself built from the first two letters of the username, samples: Wendy Starfall's prefix is we Otto (garvin.twine)'s prefix is ga and VirtualDisgrace Resident's prefix is vi

Patches & Replacements:

A patch installer will be made available at our in-world store if there are any updates, fixes or features added to the blindfold. If you have lost your blindfold due to inventory fault or accidental deletion, you can request a cost-free replacement from us.

To learn about the version of your blindfold, just check the number next to the headline in the blindfold's menu.

Current versions of all of our products can be checked at the updates section of this website.
